Items:
1. Spring Social Event
Locations for the Spring Social were discussed. The event will be sponsored by a private company. The tentative date for the function will be Thursday, March 29, 2001. Locations discussed by the group included Boston Beerworks, Cambridge Brewing Company, Northeast Brewing Company and Jillians. A location in Boston, close to public transportation, was considered to be a prime requirement for the location. A location where people can mingle and talk was also identified as an important factor. While the main provision will be drinks, some food will also be included.

2. MRS Annual Meeting
Attendees were reminded that the annual meeting of the MRS is scheduled for Wednesday, March 14, 2001 at the Westin Hotel, 70 Third Avenue in Waltham, MA. It will begin at 6 PM and has as the featured speaker Dr James H. Thrall from MGH speaking about "A prospective on problems and opportunities in the 21st century." All were encouraged to attend and to remind their colleagues at each program. The fee for residents is a nominal $5 and may be paid in advance to Ginny DuLong at MMS.

3. Alimentary Tract Review
The single day session review of the alimentary tract targeted for senior residents preparing for oral board examinations has been tenatively scheduled for 4/28/01. Residents should register in advance through MRS RFS. No cap has been set for attendance. Dr. Scholz of Lahey Clinic will be the sole presenter. Dr. Buonomo, who had originally agreed to teach on pediatric GI Radiology, unfortunately will not be able attend the session due to scheduling conflicts. The possibility of a separate pediatric alimentary tract review session was discussed but no conclusion was reached. The session will last from 8-12 or from 9-1.

4. Spring/Summer Forum
The topic of the next forum was again discussed with further modifications. The three types of speakers that the group agreed on were: headhunters, human resource personnel and academic section heads. The group specifically is interested in the aspects of jobs that may not be apparent to everyone ("hidden bonuses and debits"), knowing that each particular job has its individualities. The time of this forum was tentatively scheduled for the third week in June and the format will be short presentation with following question and answer periods punctuated with roundhouse discussion as possible.

5. Private Practice Opportunities Listings
CW has received many responses to the MRS RFS attempts to garner contacts for this endeavour and has placed them on the website through hard work. We hope to make further contacts at the Annual Meeting (See #2 above).

6. New Internet Links
A request for new links for the website was made. These should be very individualized and should not be wholesale copying of lists. This is to be avoided as many such lists exist and we would prefer to communicate a few very useful links.

7. Study Sessions
Study or review sessions including written materials was discussed. One possibility discussed was to attempt to persuade the ABR to improve its practice questions and instructions prior to the written Board examinations. A delineation between the ACRs in-service examination and the written Boards was discussed. This issue will be discussed with the ACRs RFS Executive Council (EC) by CW.

8. New Staff Advisor
PG noted that as he transitions to become the MRS President that the RFS should obtain a new MRS Advisor. Some potential candidates were discussed and further details will be available in the near future.

9. Moonlighting Opportunity
The MGH is currently taking the names of potential resident moonlighters to cover injections at Waltham (MGH West) currently and potentially in the future at Chelsea and Charlestown. Interested parties should be able to start work at 5 PM sharp at the center in Waltham or Chelsea and would typically cover the CT and MR duty until 9 or 11 PM. No film reading would be required. The interested parties should be residents or fellows in good standing, have ACLS provider card up to date, and have malpractice coverage extension. 10. Resident PACS Survey
MM was involved in a PACS survey of Partners residents (MGH & BWH) in 1999-2000 concerning the effect of PACS on resident education. This year he would like to extend a similar survey to the state. The goal is to identify the pros and cons of PACS as it applies to the resident educational experience. It is expected that the results should help programs plan this aspect of their educational process.

11. Fellowship Application Survey
WM is spearheading a project to survey residents who recently underwent the application process for obtaining a fellowship position. Some underwent a Match whereas others did not. The possibility of surveying the nation was discussed. A survey of residents who underwent the Neuroradiology Match is being undertaken by Dr. Yousem of Johns Hopkins via email but is thought to reach only a portion of the residents who may have undergone the process. While a national mailing was deemed desirable this appears too difficult to organize at present and thus the initial survey will focus on residents concerned in MA.
